Branch Refresh In A Historic New England Town

Office Space: 13,028 sq. ft.

When it comes to a renovation, we try to visualize what the customer is hoping to have accomplished with that space, how they want it transformed, and make it just what they want and need it to be. Once in the space, functionality, accessibility, aesthetics, comfort, and practicality are all factors to take into account for a successfully designed space. Safety and technology are also essential details needed when building the new home of a modernized financial institution.

The ION Naugatuck branch project checks off all the marks in this revamped interior renovation.

A Complete Overhaul

In what is planned to be a two-part renovation project, NES Group and ION Bank partnered to update and modernize their HQ branch. In this first phase, ION Bank was committed to offering its community its banking services, aligning with its consumers’ needs, and conducting business in a space that pays special tribute to the town it serves. This initial phase focused on the branch, the front entrance, and the exterior front of the building.

The ION brand details can be seen throughout. From the vibrant blue and green splashes to the sleek organic-shaped teller pods, glass window treatments, acrylic lettering, graphics, and furniture color choices carry the ION look in every interior part. An interactive timeline showcases the history of Ion Bank and Naugatuck. Customers can spin the cubes to learn about the Bank and their town.

Welcoming Change

The open-feel environment, now with abundant natural light, is complete with dedicated waiting areas and offices with ample visibility to the interior and exterior of the bank. This allows for a balance of privacy and confidentiality and a purposeful feeling of community. Modernized sit-to-stand desks for its employees, a café nook, and an ITM area finish this thoughtfully designed space.

We wish ION all the success in launching this first completed phase and look forward to continuing the work to bring its transformative vision to life.
