When the bank set out to renovate its corporate branch within its Norwich headquarters, the goal was not to reinvent its identity. It was to create a space that better reflects who Dime Bank is today while honoring the legacy that has shaped it for generations.
The comprehensive renovation brought new life to both the customer experience and employee workflow. By balancing tradition with modern functionality, the transformed corporate branch feels welcoming, sophisticated, and ready to serve the bank and its customers well into the future.
A Renewed First Impression
The transformation begins before customers even step inside.
The building’s original architecture was preserved, while refreshed paint, trim, and signage gave the exterior a cleaner, more contemporary presence. These thoughtful updates created a welcoming first impression without losing the familiar character customers have known and trusted.
A Grand Welcome
Inside, the two-story lobby serves as the centerpiece of the newly renovated corporate branch. High ceilings, a dramatic stone feature wall, a redesigned staircase with rich navy wainscoting, and expansive glass railings create an immediate sense of openness and arrival.
Natural wood, stone, glass, and soft textiles add warmth throughout the space, while cascading pendants and sculptural light fixtures introduce movement and visual interest. Together, these details create an environment that feels polished and professional, yet comfortable and inviting.
Designed Around Connection
Beyond its visual transformation, the corporate branch was redesigned to better support how customers and employees interact.
An open floor plan creates a more natural and personal banking experience, while flexible seating areas accommodate everything from quick transactions to more in-depth financial conversations. Comfortable lounge furniture and casual high-top tables give customers and employees the freedom to connect in a setting that feels right for the moment.
Glass-front offices allow natural light to travel deeper into the branch, with decorative films providing privacy where needed. Curved flooring transitions and thoughtfully placed gathering areas guide customers through the space while creating a softer, more intuitive sense of movement.
A Brand Story Woven Throughout
Throughout the corporate branch, Dime Bank’s identity is expressed through more than traditional signage. Its signature silver dime motif appears in the flooring, glass, and architectural details, while familiar messages such as“Banking Lives Here” and“Times Change. Values Don’t.” reinforce the values that have guided the institution for more than 155 years.
The branch also celebrates Norwich and the surrounding community. A large-scale illustration of Norwich Harbor and the Thames River anchors the lobby, connecting the space to the city’s history and Dime Bank’s longstanding local presence.
Nearby, a custom wood map of Connecticut and Rhode Island features brushed aluminum dime markers identifying each branch location. Designed to grow alongside the bank, the display represents both its expanding footprint and its continued connection to the communities it serves.
Rich cherry wood, brushed aluminum, and a timeless palette of navy, gray, and white bring the full experience together. Each material and detail helps the corporate branch feel distinctly Dime Bank, balancing a strong sense of history with a fresh and contemporary design.
