As Greenfield Savings Bank (GSB) continued to grow across Western Massachusetts, it recognized an opportunity to better serve the many customers who already lived and worked in Easthampton. Working alongside strategic partner The Long Group, the bank carefully selected a site within a new mixed-use development to establish its ninth branch and new Southern Headquarters.
The goal was about more than opening another location. It was about creating a lasting presence in a growing market, strengthening relationships with the community, and building a space that reflects GSB’s commitment to the people it serves.
A Foundation for Growth
The new two-story, 5,553 square foot facility serves as both a full-service branch and the bank’s Southern Headquarters, providing room for continued growth while creating a highly visible presence within Easthampton’s newest development.
Designed with a modern mix of EIFS, Hardie plank siding, and a signature tower feature, the building complements the surrounding neighborhood while standing out as an anchor within the development. Every decision—from site selection to the building’s design—was made with the bank’s long-term vision in mind.
Designed Around Relationships
Inside, the branch was designed to support today’s relationship-focused approach to banking. Rather than centering the experience around transactions, the layout encourages conversations and meaningful connections.
An open lobby welcomes customers into the space, while the teller pod is intentionally positioned away from the entrance to create a warmer first impression. Comfortable seating, private offices, collaborative spaces, and a dedicated children’s area with interactive iPads ensure customers of every age feel welcome and at home.
Bringing Easthampton Inside
One of the defining features of the project is how deeply it connects to the community.
Visitors are greeted by a mural celebrating the site’s history as the beloved Tasty Top ice cream stand, alongside custom dimensional Easthampton zip code graphics inspired by sprinkles, waffle cones, and scoops of ice cream. Throughout the branch, environmental graphics celebrate local landmarks, landscapes, and the people who make the community unique.
The “Faces and Places of Easthampton” display showcases local photography alongside Greenfield Savings Bank’s volunteer efforts, while a custom mural by local artist Jesse Morgan captures iconic Easthampton imagery from the second floor. The bank’s core values—Care, Connection, Community, and Communication—are woven throughout the space, reinforcing its commitment to serving neighbors with a personal touch.

The new Easthampton branch represents more than Greenfield Savings Bank’s continued expansion. It creates a welcoming destination where customers can feel connected to both their financial institution and their community.
By combining thoughtful architecture, relationship-driven design, and authentic local storytelling, Greenfield Savings Bank has created a space that supports its future while giving Easthampton customers a true sense of belonging.
