Expanding their branch network within a new neighborhood, Ocean State Credit Union’s newest branch transcends the typical banking experience, creating a haven where members can navigate the waters of finance with ease.
When Ocean State Credit Union was ready to expand their branch network with their first branch in Warwick, RI, NES Group was tasked to transform a former restaurant into a contemporary, coastal-inspired environment that aligns with their brand.
The scope of work consisted of renovating the exterior and interior of the existing building and extending the footprint to include a new tower. With an open concept, the 2,605 square foot branch has an ATM vestibule, an open lobby with a cozy waiting area, two teller pods, private offices, a breakroom, and a two-lane drive-up. Members are met with multiple options to conduct transactions inside and outside of the branch, providing a convenient experience.
Upon entering, the well-balanced interior and environmental design embrace you with a sense of openness and calmness. Our goal was to capture the essence of Rhode Island, the ocean state, with a coastal-inspired interior that represents the soothing rhythm of waves and the sun-kissed shores. A palette of serene neutrals and textures evoke the tranquil ambiance of Rhode Island, while the architecture of the ceiling mimics the graceful lines of the waves, creating an inviting and organic atmosphere. From the life-size black-and-white landscape murals to the local images scattered throughout, mixed with branded elements like the seagull, members are immersed in a familiar environment.
By blending functionality with elements of the coast, this credit union branch offers a refreshing approach to banking—one that is not just about transactions but about building a community and fostering financial serenity.
